Our History

How Guthe Insurance Got Started

Guthe Insurance had its genesis in 1946 when three returning veterans from WWII opened an office in Fountain City. In 1964, Bill Broome merged his insurance agency and became the managing partner. Over time, Bill added his brother Gordon and son in law Phil Guthe as producers. The name has changed through the years to more accurately reflect the current ownership. Guthe Insurance is now into our third generation of family insurance agents with the addition of Neal and Boone, grandsons of Bill Broome.
